| On
a typical day we will head off for a game drive in the late afternoon.
Get a feel for the bush as we travel through thickets and across plains
in search of wildlife. We'll find a place with a good view for sundowners
- a majestic experience in itself. The atmosphere of the bush changes as
darkness settles and we continue on a thrilling night game drive. Follow
the beam of the spotlight as it catches a pair, or ten, of glowing eyes...
Back
at the lodge, kick back next to the campfire after a culinary feast and
lose yourself in the brilliant expanse of an African sky.

A
good night's rest sees us up early for a warm drink and traditional rusks,
before we strap on our walking shoes. Guided bush walks are an ideal opportunity
to see nature's harmony unfold. We teach you the basics of reading tracks
- from the tiny patter of a troop of mongoose crossing the road to the
confident stride of a lion, show you how termite colonies work and tell
you which plants are favoured by indigenous peoples for their uses.
You'll
be ready for a full English breakfast in the lapa now, followed with a
light lunch later in the day. Wile away the rest of the afternoon around
camp at your leisure. Should you wish to broaden your scope, we can arrange
for tours to neighbouring places of interest, including cultural or conservation
attractions. |
| Every
day brings signs of fresh activity and encounters with different animals,
but it's all part of the Kwa-Mbili news update. View the incredible array
of bird and animal life from the safety and comfort of the hide.

Take
a 1½ hour boat trip to view the spectacular 200m high Kadishi Tufa
Waterfall - one of Africa's largest active tufa falls - and marvel at the

| The
Lowveld, while world-famous for its big game, is also home to considerably
more than half of the total species of southern African birds. More than
500 such species are found on the flats alone. However, these are augmented
by even more specialised bird species from the forests and cliffs along
the Drakensberg escarpment, which forms the Lowveld's western boundary.
Complementing the Lowveld's exciting mammals, many of the rarest and most
beautiful of South African birds are found in the Hoedspruit District. |
